Missy Lester

Growing up in Atlanta, her "character building" activities as a child was accompanying her father to work on his rental properties. It made sense, then, that Melissa would one day work in real estate and property management. 

 

Her first love is hospitality, in which she spent over a decade in the industry – working for brands like Hilton and Benchmark Hospitality Management – in places from Tennessee to Scotland.  Melissa says her experience in hospitality allows her to focus on an individual's needs and communications. 

 

Her great passion, though, is affordable housing and first time home buyers.  Melissa regularly attends the Atlanta Regional Housing Forum quarterly meetings, presented at the Georgia State Capitol, and has served on the Government Affairs Committee for the Atlanta Board of Realtors.  She currently resides in Brookhaven and loves trying new restaurants on the Buford Highway corridor.  

Gloriela Horton

Office Administrative Assistant

One of the newest team members, Gloria started working with Uncommon Property Realty in 2021 after spending a decade working in Montessori schools throughout Atlanta.  

 

Originally from Panama, Gloriela grew up in a military family and has lived in numerous places throughout the United States.  

 

"I liked the flexibility provided to work with my family schedule, but as I went from part-time to full-time, I realized I was also growing personally and professionally.  And that's because of the commitment Uncommon Property Realty has in its product, business, and employees." 

 

Gloriela is currently working on her real estate license and hopes to be a full-fledged REALTOR by the end of this year. 

 

 

Elaine Boyce

Customer Care

Elaine is the heart of our operation having been with us since 2011.  Elaine reigns over the dispatch board, balancing care and concern for tenants, contractors, and inspectors while making sure everyone is aware of their responsibilities and holding everyone accountable.

 

It is often said by tenants that, "Elaine is like the best friend I never met." 

 

Elaine came to Uncommon Property Realty first as a tenant herself.  One day the President, Jim, asked Elaine out for coffee citing he wanted to learn more about her.  Upon hearing that she used to work in childcare in schools and daycare facilities while raising four children and two grandchildren, Jim said, "You must be amazing at organization and task management.  How would you like a job?"

 

Since then Elaine has been the Keeper of Our Hearts.

Happiness Guarantee

If for any reason Owner is not completely happy with Broker’s property management service, Broker will refund to Owner the most recent month’s monthly management fee.

Tenant Guarantee

If the tenants Broker places in the property do not complete the first 12 months of their lease agreement Broker will re-rent the property for free. This means no tenant procurement fee associated with the next tenant. Other fees, including but not limited to renewal fees, monthly management fees, etc. still apply. This does not apply to regular move-outs at the end of a lease, lease renewals, termination of lease with military orders, early termination when tenant pays all applicable early termination fees included in the lease, and leases terminated early by owner.

Pet Damage Guarantee

If a pet placed in the Property by Broker damages the Property, and the pet was included in Broker’s standard lease, Broker will repair the pet damage to the Property up to $1500 per tenancy. Broker shall apply the tenant’s security deposit to non-pet damage items for which the security deposit can be legally applied; if after applying the security deposit to non-pet damage items any pet damage remains, Broker will pay up to $1500 per tenancy toward the repair of same.

Cancellation Guarantee

If for any reason Owner is not completely happy with Broker’s property management service, Owner may terminate this Exclusive Management Agreement without penalty at any time.
